What is the Cost of Studying in UK for International Students?

cost-of-studying-in-uk

In general, studying in the UK is less expensive than studying at similarly ranked universities in the United States. Students are likely to gain more value for money by pursuing a British education because degree programmes in the UK are frequently shorter than in the US. Degrees and qualifications from UK higher education institutions are recognised globally for their excellent quality and world-class status. This quality standard is set by some of the older universities with well-known names, such as Oxford and Cambridge, but the tradition is carried on by many of the UK's universities and colleges.

Because your degree will normally take less time to finish in the UK than in other countries, you may be able to save money when compared to a school in the United States. Although four-year programmes are becoming more common, most degree programmes in the UK are three years long, and master's programmes are normally one to two years long. The United Kingdom has emerged as one of the world's top study destinations. With hundreds of years of greatness, world-class institutions around every corner, and far more flexibility than many other countries, the United Kingdom has much to offer international students that other English-speaking countries cannot.

How Much Does it Cost to Study in UK for International Students?

UK tuition fees are usually a cause of contention, with prices for home students (UK/EU) reaching eye-watering amounts in recent years. Students from the United Kingdom and the European Union studying at English universities must now pay up to £9,250 (US$13,050) per year.

International undergraduate tuition fees range widely, from roughly £10,000 (US$14,130) to £38,000 (US$53,700) or more for medical degrees (source: Reddin Survey of University Tuition Fees).

Tuition Fees in UK for International Students

Tuition prices vary from university to university and from course to course. Living expenses differ by city, and studying in London will cost more than studying in a small town in Wales or Scotland. If you are concerned about the cost of your application, AECC can help you make the wisest selection. Some students prefer to spend the summer in the United Kingdom and must budget for living expenditures for the entire year. Other students may choose to spend the summer at home, where they are responsible for their own living expenses.
